What is Twitter? Twitter is a site where you can interact socially with others online. If you have heard of Myspace or LinkedIn. these are all social media sites. Each site has it’s own demographics. Each site has it’s own uses as well as it’s own set of rules for use.
Twitter establishes a basic need to stay in touch with people it is human interaction through short or brief messaging and always answering the question of what are you doing? Twitter does have one distinct difference then other social media sites and that is the form of communication that they use. Twitter only allows 140 characters of communication at one time. so in actuality you may only type in 140 characters of text per communication. In essence what you are doing is sending a text message. I believe these are called tweets. I know it all sounds very cute. But it is really an extremely useful Social Networking site. Twitter seems simple but you will see that there are many different ways to build a business there.
I went to a seminar recently about social networking where one of the speakers had his laptop open and was conversing with his twitter following during the seminar. While the other guest speakers were speaking he was typing in what he was doing at the time. If you think that is too high tech? I think not. The new craze is text messaging. Twitter uses texting as their primary platform.
Once you learn the ropes you will be able to market your business and make contacts very quickly. You will able to do this easily by building a huge list of Twitter followers. The more members you get interested in what you have to say the more opportunities you have to establish business partners.
